Truck Accidents in Rancho Mirage and the Dangers of Freeway Collisions
Semi-truck crashes like the one that happened in Rancho Mirage often result in serious injuries or loss of life. These trucks can weigh up to 80,000 pounds when fully loaded, making collisions especially deadly. Freeway accidents are even more dangerous because of the high speeds and number of vehicles involved.
California sees thousands of truck crashes every year. Many of these accidents happen on major freeways like the I-10, which runs through densely populated areas and is a common route for commercial vehicles. A simple mistake by a truck driver—like falling asleep at the wheel, speeding, or failing to brake in time—can lead to disaster. The California Highway Patrol continues to monitor and enforce truck safety, but accidents still occur.
Victims of truck accidents often face long recoveries, expensive medical bills, and loss of income. When someone is hurt or killed due to a truck driver’s negligence, they may be entitled to compensation. This could cover hospital costs, physical therapy, lost wages, and pain and suffering. In the case of fatal crashes, surviving families may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim.
