Lancaster, CA – 3 Killed, Child Injured in Crash at SR-138 & 110th St W


Lancaster, CA (July 5, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon, June 2, claimed the lives of three family members and left a child critically injured.
The fatal collision happened around 4:25 p.m. on State Route 138 near 110th Street West. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Chevrolet Colorado carrying a family of four was moving through the intersection when it entered the path of an eastbound Dodge Ram 3500.
The impact killed 38-year-old Vanessa Gonzalez-Gabriel, 49-year-old Abdias Gabriel-Fernandez, and their 12-year-old daughter, Ruby Gabriel. All three were pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities.
A fourth passenger, a juvenile, survived the crash and was rushed to Antelope Valley Medical Center. The child was taken straight into surgery. No name has been released for the young survivor.
The Dodge Ram driver suffered minor injuries and was also treated at Antelope Valley Medical Center.
Video captured by a passing electric vehicle confirmed CHP’s findings that the Chevrolet moved into the Dodge Ram’s path. CHP stated that no criminal charges are expected in the case.
The crash investigation caused SR-138 to close for over four hours between 110th St W and 90th St W. Authorities are still reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses to understand all the facts.
