South Gate, CA (May 26, 2025) – Two drivers were killed early Monday, May 26, after a violent crash at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Garfield Avenue in South Gate.

The deadly crash occurred around 6 a.m. outside a 7-Eleven. Authorities say the incident began with an incident call on Exeter Street in Paramount, about four miles away. Deputies responded to the scene, but the suspect fled before they arrived.

Shortly afterward, the fleeing suspect sped through South Gate and crashed into another driver who was in a turn lane. The impact was so forceful that the suspect’s vehicle flew off the road, landing on top of a parked car in the 7-Eleven lot.

The other driver died at the scene. Paramedics rushed the suspect to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive. Neither of the vehicles involved had other occupants.
