Los Angeles, CA – One Killed in Crash on West Florence Avenue

Los Angeles, CA (April 17, 2024) – A man was killed in a crash that occurred in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, April 16th. The accident took place around 11:15 p.m. on West Florence Avenue in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

According to a report, a black BMW SUV was traveling westbound on West Florence at a high rate of speed when the driver ran a red light and struck the side of a gray sedan at the intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard. The driver of the sedan suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified only as a 25-year-old man. The SUV driver remained at the scene and was arrested by police. At this time, it does not appear as though alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash. An investigation is ongoing. No further details are available.
