Granada Hills, CA – One Critically Burned in Crash Between Big Rigs on 5 Freeway

Granada Hills, CA (May 8, 2024) – Officials in Granada Hills responded to the scene of a serious crash involving two big rigs on Wednesday afternoon, May 8th. The crash took place just after 12:00 p.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Roxford Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the trucks caught fire after the crash and was severely damaged. One of the truck drivers suffered major burns and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. It is unknown if anyone else was hurt. The cause of the crash has not been released and police are still conducting an investigation. Drivers were told to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible. There is no word on whether any charges are expected. An investigation is underway. No further information is available.
