Irvine, CA (May 7, 2024) – Multiple cars were involved in a crash that happened in Irvine on Tuesday afternoon, May 7th. The collision was reported around 3:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Sand Canyon Road.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a light blue Hyundai Elantra, a tan Toyota Corolla, and a red pickup truck were all involved in the collision. The Elantra overturned several times and came to rest in an upright position while the Corolla was sideways across several lanes, and the truck was stopped in the center divider of the roadway. At least one person was injured in the crash and a SigAlert was issued for the right four lanes of the freeway. There is no information on the cause of the accident or the injuries sustained. An investigation is still underway at this time. No further information has been released.
