Glendale, CA (August 17, 2024) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident on the 134 Pasadena Freeway in Glendale resulted in the death of at least one individual, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred late Friday night, involving several vehicles, including a black BMW and a silver SUV.

Authorities responded to the scene around 11:41 p.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle stalled in one of the freeway lanes near the East Brand Boulevard on-ramp. Upon arrival, CHP officers found multiple vehicles obstructing the middle lanes, with debris scattered across several lanes of the freeway. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased, including their age and gender, has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

As the investigation into the cause of the accident continued, the CHP closed all lanes of the eastbound 134 Freeway to facilitate their work and ensure the safety of those involved.
