Apple Valley, CA – One Killed, One Injured in Two-Car Crash on Hwy. 18

Apple Valley, CA (June 19, 2024) – A two-car fatal crash was reported in Apple Valley on Saturday, June 15th. The crash occurred just after 7:00 p.m. on State Highway 18 at Central Road.

According to an investigation report, 28-year-old Markell Lister was driving an Orange Ford Fiesta northbound on Central Road near the intersection with Highway 18. At the same time, 27-year-old Konstantin Markrygiannis was operating a black Audi SQ5 eastbound on Highway 18. As both cars approached the intersection, the Audi broadsided the Fiesta, causing the Fiesta to overturn several times before coming to rest in the northeast corner of the intersection. Lister suffered critical injuries and later died at a local hospital. Markrygiannis was treated for undisclosed injuries. The crash caused the intersection to be closed while police cleared the scene and conducted an investigation. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No additional details are available.
