Apple Valley, CA (June 4, 2024) – A man from Apple Valley was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Monday night, June 3rd. The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. on Thunderbird Road near the intersection with Wichita Road.

According to police, the bicyclist and a 36-year-old Apple Valley man were eastbound on Thunderbird Road. The 36-year-old man was driving a Ford Explorer in the No. 1 lane of travel. For unknown reasons, the Explorer struck the bicyclist, leading to serious injuries. The rider was airlifted to a trauma center for further treatment. The driver of the Explorer remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. At this time, there is no word on the victim’s condition. An investigation remains ongoing. No additional information has been released.
