Lakeland Village, CA – Darryl Oldfield Identified in Deadly Crash on Grand Ave
Lakeland Village, CA (August 10, 2024) – An area coroner identified a motorist killed in a fiery Lakeland Village vehicle crash as a 75-year-old Lake Elsinore man on Wednesday.
Darryl Oldfield was pronounced dead at the scene minutes after the 3:30 p.m. crash on northbound Grand Avenue, just south of Blanche Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately available, but the impact of the accident caused Oldfield’s vehicle to catch fire, and witnesses tried to douse the flames before emergency responders were dispatched to the site.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived and contained the blaze. However, Oldfield was found dead in the burned vehicle. At this time, there is no word on whether any charges will be filed in connection with the crash. No further details are available at this time.
