Los Angeles, CA – 22-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash on El Segundo Blvd.

Los Angeles, CA (July 7, 2024) – A 22-year-old woman was killed in a crash that took place in Los Angeles on Saturday morning, July 6th. The accident occurred just before 1:00 a.m. on El Segundo Boulevard at South Central Avenue in the Willowbrook area.

Police say that the crash occurred following a street takeover. The deceased victim was a passenger in a black Toyota hatchback that was traveling on El Segundo when it was broadsided by an Infiniti that was leaving the takeover. The woman, who was identified as Brenda Mejia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old passenger in the Infiniti was injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Infiniti fled the scene after the collision and police are still searching for the driver at this time. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with details is asked to contact the South Los Angeles Division of the California Highway Patrol. No additional information is available.
