Fresno Co, CA (June 6, 2025) – One man died and a woman was seriously hurt in a crash on Thursday, June 5.

The two-car collision happened that morning at the junction of American Avenue and Buttonwillow Avenue, just north of Reedley in Fresno County. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene shortly after the crash.

Officials say a woman in a Toyota Prius pulled into the path of a white sedan heading north on Buttonwillow Ave. The two cars collided at the intersection.

The man driving the sedan died at the scene from his injuries. Emergency crews airlifted the woman in the Prius to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Her condition has not been released.

Authorities say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have caused the crash. No other people were involved. Investigators are still working to determine the full cause of the collision.
